Used Apple Laptops Under $200

Your best bet in finding one under $200 is to look out for these older models.

iBook -This series was produced from 1999-2006.  The first model made was the clamshell, which was replaced by the G3, and then the G4 model.  See iBooks for sale here...

You can find a Powerbook G4 and iBook G4 for under $200 on eBay.  These models are not made anymore, but they still make great cheap laptops!

Most people buy overpriced laptops that come with way more than they need.  If you don't need to play the latest and greatest video games, and just want a nice laptop that you can use to get on the Internet, play music, and type on, you don't need to spend more than $200 for a laptop!

If you are looking for Apple laptops under $200, check out the iBook and the Powerbook. The last model for both the iBook and Powerbook was produced in 2006, but they still work great for an average persons daily computer needs.

Features as well as shades of distinguished colors comprise of Graphite, Blueberry and Tangerine. Indigo and key lime is available with the FireWire computers yet some of the parts are shaded white. You have solid shades with these models. Look for USB information.

If you want to find iBook computers with two USB ports consider the older models. You will find a selection of styles and size in the G4s which compare to the G3 models that have case finishing that is not as clear as some of the newer models. The keyboard is not as clear either. The finish is more of a solid shade.

Speed - look for 700-Megahertz iBook computers with audio, reset buttons etc. The computers have a larger display screen available and the optical drive is a tray load.

Apple's iBook computers comprise of the G3s and G4 models. The 700 models cost less. It has a twin booting option with RAM (640 MB) and 30 GB space in the internal drive. The modem is a standard 56k. There is a combo drive in both the first and second models. Some of the G4s has 1024 Megabytes of RAM combined with SuperDrive and 60 Gigs of hard drive space. Other models have 768 Megabytes of RAM and 160 Gigs of combo drive space.

Most of the later Apple's do not have many differentiating features. RAM is different for the most part, yet you should weigh the differences in all specs of the iBook computers to find one that fits your needs. It is apparent that technology is creating newer systems each day, which means the prices are dropping on the later models.

The one defining and distinct quality that Apple has promised and always successfully maintained is the strong anti-virus build-up of the system. Even to this date it is a Herculean task for the most efficient of the hackers to trespass the security of the Apple Computer products. Other standard features that set out Apple PowerBook from the crowd are its characteristic Mac X 10. 4 OS, the Bluetooth antenna, Wireless antenna and the build in speakers.

The earliest of the PowerBook series - PowerBook 100 and PowerBook Duo were stunners themselves. The PowerBook 100 and its series were distinct in their features with a track ball, a smart ergonomic keyboard with palm rests, grey casing and active matrix display. PowerBook Duo is a hybrid portable/desktop computer that included the subnotebook features of PowerBook 100 but much lighter in weight and size and pleasing looks.

The PowerBook 500 series saw a rapid expansion of the processor speed up to 117MHZ and 8MB RAM. The Power PC Era began with PowerBook 5300 which revolutionised the scope of Apple Computers into the personal computer market. PowerBook G3 marks the beginning of an altogether new series of Apple PCs. These came with 300 MHZ processor speed and 12-14" screens. One highlighting feature of this series is the dual drive bays that can accommodate Floppy drives, CD/DVD ROM drives, hard disk drives as well as additional battery compartments.

The PowerBook G4 is the latest and the most sought-after of the series. With just 1 inch thickness, an automatic light sensing brightness regulator, SuperDrive DVD-R/CD-RW, 1 GHz processor speed and 1 GB extendable RAM, Apple PowerBook G4 is sure to set the market on fire.

I know my friends in school are not stupid and would not waste their time on something that was just a popular fad. They mostly don’t have the cash flow for that kind of purchase, we are pretty much struggling until we get our degrees.

A good friend of mine gave me his review telling me about his laptop purchase during his tenure at legal school. He is just over-the-top happy about the Apple. His prior experience with PC’s has not been pleasant due to constant problems and issues. The one thing he loved was that you don’t have a lot of set up when you first purchase it. Adding software doesn’t gobble up memory and make it run slower either.

The fact that it only has 2 ports for USB is no big deal since you can buy a hub for extra ports if you really want to. He likes how durable it is since he is driving around so much between home and school and his girlfriend’s house.

My other friend told me that Apple Laptops are great for anyone in multimedia too. The power it has to do the bigger projects is his joy, and it is much faster than any other unit he’s used on similar work.

Large pictures can be manipulated using aperture and the price is right even for smaller jobs and Internet use.

Women love this machine especially the simplicity and speed. If you do not understand anything about computers, you can still enjoy the Apple Laptops. My friend said it never tends to hang like other computers and she told me that her Grandmother even uses it with ease.
